Last Sunday Stan Roy and I spent a couple of hours enjoying the camp, the rain and the bugs. (Maybe why no one is willing to risk there blood yet)? We managed to get quite a few projects completed and had the opportunity to sit with Claude Gratton and his wife Dianne to discuss the new cabin. (Which is coming along nicely btw). The two remaining 'Verchere' boats that were in the lake have now been stored. Users of the southern wall lockers will have to move JK's boat out slightly to access the doors. A thorough weed wacking and tree trimming was done of the compound from one end to the other. The boat house was tidied up, four empty propane tanks were loaded into the trailer and brought down to Gratton's house for filling. An old BBQ along with other metal junk was removed for the dump.
We are thinking that we might just have room to put in some double mattresses on the lower bunks of at least one bed in each of the two rooms of Cabin 3. A custom size of 50 x 80inches mind you, but larger than the 39 inch standard single. And longer.

Wiring for solar lighting will be installed Monday-Tuesday next week, walls and ceilings are going in after, then this will be painted. (Any volunteers to help yet? Come on guys!!) The interior wainscoting will be installed by the contractor. Following this an epoxy paint will be applied to the flooring. From there we will build the bunks, install the propane, the stove and kitchen, and put our feet up. Not too fast, we still need volunteers to paint!
Unarguably the nicest view |
A big thanks to Jim Cameron who has been active with Rod Armstrong in the purchase and sawing of cedar logs for the two decks and interior trim and aforementioned wainscoting. A pile of money has been saved in the process.
With some luck Stan says we are 99.9% on for the middle of August. Happy Canada Day all!
PS...I like the view!
