Not much partying at our home this past holiday. Chantal worked Christmas eve and then again on New Years Day. My two daughters, Emily and Jess spent their holidays at home in Toronto and Victoria respectively. Without our retriever Maggie, and our tabby Mr Kitty it was indeed a quiet household compared to past holidays. Last Saturday however, I finally got out my x-country skis for a little tour around the island and then again Sunday. Our property backs onto farmland, and we live beside a wide section of the Ottawa River so it just seems sacrilegious to me not to do something outdoors in the winter. Hopefully I can show you my ice fishing holes soon. (Not that I like to eat anything out of this waterway, but then again, I only have to go out the door and walk 40-50 feet!)
If anyone has an interest in custom flies, salmon or trout, and don't have the time to tie one on yourself, you can contact my brother John at jwagg13@aol.com. You can see the quality in the image of this Blue Charm salmon fly.
We are one member away from our limit of 25 as set at the AGM in 2012. Following the last notice for members to forward their dues, we opened the club roster to new applicants. Please extend a warm welcome to the following new members for 2013; Don Armstrong, brother of Jim and Rod; father and son Pierre and Lee Brunet; and Robbie Noel. All have been at the club in the past, either as guests or past members. Thanks to all for your support. We'd love to hear what you are up to during the winter months.
