Welcome to 2013 and the upcoming fishing/hunting season. We’ve put together a few answers below to help you in dealing with your season.

The following FAQ'S should cover most Q’s on fees with the ZECMP.

FAQ

1 -  IS IT MANDATORY TO BUY THE ANNUAL ZECMP MEMBERSHIP CARD @ $26.
This card is mandatory for any user of the ZECMP who takes an ANNUAL fishing or combination fishing/hunting pass with the ZECMP.

2 - I GO IN ONCE OR TWICE A YEAR. DO I NEED TO BUY AN ANNUAL ZECMP MEMBERSHIP CARD? NO. Only if you buy ANNUAL Fishing/hunting rights with the zec.

However We encourage any adult using our club to take out an annual membership in the ZECMP. Form our viewpoint the purchase of an annual ZECMP MEMBERSHIP card is strictly good karma and a show of faith between the ZECMP and our group (AFGC). a) It gives you and by extension your club, a vote and a say in the running of the ZECMP and b)additional leverage with the ZECMP when we ask about fixing the road and other communiques :-) We each need the other.

3 - DOES MY ZECMP MEMBERSHIP CARD COVER MY WIFE (CON-JOINT)? YES.
Also your children under 18, BUT, it has nothing to do with fishing/hunting fees and licenses. Inform yourselves if you bring family up to use the facilities who may want to fish and/or hunt!

4 - DO MY GUESTS NEED AN ANNUAL ZECMP MEMBERSHIP CARD? NO. It is not necessary for your guests to have a zec membership card, but here again, kharma representation for our club at the ZEC is appreciated. (Please direct the name of any guest who takes out an annual ZECMP membership to an executive of the club for a formal acknowledgment).

5 - MUST I PURCHASE A DAILY OR ZECMP ANNUAL CIRCULATION/ROAD FEE? YES.
It is mandatory to buy either a daily or annual road pass. The road pass (droit de circulation) covers one vehicle and/or the member for the trip they have purchased. The annual fee ($85) applies to one vehicle and is good for that member. The daily fee ($8.50) covers one vehicle and it’s occupants for one specified trip. (Specified as in the currently booked ZECMP trip).

6 - IF I GO IN AND OUT TO GET GROCERIES, DO I NEED TO PAY A DAILY CIRCULATION EACH TIME I GO PAST THE GATE? NO.
But you do need to deposit your ZECMP paperwork at the main gate when you go out, and pick it up when you go back in.

7 - IS IT MANDATORY TO PURCHASE AN ANNUAL ZECMP MEMBERSHIP CARD IF I TAKE AN ANNUAL ROAD PASS.NO.
An annual membership card does not require you to buy an annual road pass. But why would you take an annual road pass if you wern’t going in more to fish and hunt. (see No 9).

8 - WHAT’S THE LEAST EXPENSIVE ZECMP CIRCULATION/ROAD PASS? An annual $85 pass does mean 10 trips before one breaks even. So it may be cheaper to pay $8.50 each trip.

9 - DO MY FAMILY MEMBERS HAVE TO EACH PAY A ROAD PASS? Your wife/con-joint, and kids under 18, are valid  on either an annual or a daily road circulation pass.

10 - DO I HAVE TO PAY THE ZECMP THE CIRCULATION/ROAD PASS IF I AM BEING DRIVEN UP BY SOMEONE ELSE? Unless ALL user(s) travelling EACH have an ANNUAL pass, the vehicle must purchase a $8.50 single trip pass. Sorry, that’s how it works.

11 - SHOULD I PURCHASE AN ANNUAL ZECMP FISHING/HUNTING PASS OR A 1 DAY/3 DAY SPECIAL: The Zec offers a variety of annual passes however, weigh out the number of trips you intend on doing. For fishermen, if you are going to fish three times, we suggest an annual pass at $105. (Includes bear hunting). Otherwise a ONE day pass is $20 or THREE day pass is $50. An annual pass starts at $105 and goes up to $300 which includes hunting for a variety of game.

12 - WHAT OTHER PERMIT’S DO I NEED TO FISH AND HUNT? You will need appropriate Quebec Provincial licenses. The Zec DOES NOT SELL PROVINCIAL LICENSES. Please purchase any provincial license prior to arriving at the ZECMP.

13 - ARE MY CHILDREN COVERED IN THE ZECMP UNDER MY PASS, OR DO I PAY FOR THEM TO FISH? Children under 12 have no fees if accompanied by an adult who is benefiting from any ZEC fee. Remember, there are club guidelines as well as provincial license regulations for children as well.

REMEMBER the large lake for the club is only open for fishing from Saturday to Monday (3 days), and may close when certain quotas are taken. An annual permit allows you full use of the lakes for fishing, and hunting under ZEC guidelines and regulations.
