Hoping for Ice Out by May?

I think we were all hoping for an earlier spring than old Mother Nature has provided to date. Yesterday’s sunshine, and then this mornings 5 inches of wet snow? Reminds me of many lovely spring fishing days at Green Lake.  Remember this moment from last spring?

Regardless the trout continue to get more and more hungry each day, and if past lengthy winters have shown us anything, it is this. The later the ice goes out, the better the spring fishing is.

As many of you are aware, we have been in the process of replacing fridges in all camps to eliminate issues of the past. The fridges have been ordered and will be replaced in April as soon as the road becomes 'claire de neige’. Once the spring rush is through we will be tackling the replacement of chimneys in Cabins 1, and 2 and installing a slow burning wood stove in Cabin 1.

So all that is coming up, and of course prior to opening weekend, the boat house will be emptied of boats,  floating docks will be secured in place and the cabins aired and cleaned up for member and guest use.

Who’s doing all this work? Volunteers are welcome!
All this, so you can enjoy another wonderful get-away from the real world this spring.
