Last chat before heading to New Zealand

That's right folks. Next week around this time, I'll be in the air for the first leg of my trip to Welly, N.Z.

I've got the sweetest 4 piece travel rod I've ever owned, made more so by the fact it was made by my bro John. I'll let you know how those New Zealand rainbow like it in my Christmas post. Alternatively you might follow my trip in my 'New Zealand 2011' blog, or hook up with me on facebook. The one thing I haven't quite developed is a knack for the Twitter or Yelp thing. Yikes, any more technology and I'll never fish! Enough...

The season has closed at Green Lake (AFGC). The last party in headed by S. Roy, were 8 deer hunters from the 8th to the 12th and reported many a doe and fawn sighted, but no bucks. None the less they all managed to walk off the weight of last Thanksgiving covering an area from Lac Richard in the north west to the tower in the south.

The AGM was held on the 12th November in Pointe-Claire. The fee structure remains at a very reasonable $500 for full membership,  and $300 for summer members. These dues are now due for the 2012 season, so mail em in, or contact Alec on how to make an e-mail transfer.

We are happy to announce we will have 5 new members this coming year. Welcome to P. Beaulne, P. Legault, R. Armstrong, A Fowler, and M. Hussain. Also a warm welcome to S. Roy who joined us during last spring, and J. Elliot and Dan who came in as well this past year. Have I missed anyone?

Plans are in the making already for the anchoring and installation of the docks we acquired last year which have all now been delivered to the lake.

It will be necessary to acquire 3-5 boats over the next 2 years. The club is leaning more towards more durable aluminum boats. These will be used boats, so keep your eyes opened for 16 footers where possible. We'll jump on a good one. We do not need trailers.

All in all the treasurer reported a healthy financial outlook, even though our capital expenditures exceeded budget due to the high cost of transporting the docks from L'Ascension to the lake.

There will be some good projects come spring and summer next year and we invite everyone to pitch in, so rest up this year and get your home projects done.

Enjoy the pictures  below and have a great winter.
